If you are interested please email rjmelton@kw.com ASAP Rad Canyon BMX Gets Paved and BMXers Get Paid!
Rad Canyon BMX has been home to the ABA Great Salt Lake Nationals for over 10 years and for 2008 the Rad Canyon crew has stepped up their program yet again! One of the premier facilities in the country, Rad Canyon is always looking for ways to improve itself.
For 2008 look for a fresh coat of asphalt in turns #1 and #2 which will greatly enhance the speed and flow of the world-class track. The asphalt turns will lend to the already fast and challenging track that will serve as the proving ground for the worlds fastest BMX'ers during the ABA Pro Series event. Along with the new track improvements the Rad Canyon crew would like to help out those who make the trek out to Utah. In cooperation with Maverick Country Stores and Rad Canyon BMX there will be over $500.00 in cash cards and prizes handed out during the 50/50 drawings over the course of the weekend. It is just a little something to say "Thank you!" to all of the wonderful BMX families who support the sport of BMX and attend the 2008 ABA Great Salt Lake Nationals July 25th-27th. RAD Canyon BMX Email Updates
I just wanted to apologize for the issues over the last few weeks with RAD Canyon BMX's email updates. I've tried every trick I know (and a few I found) to get it right, but it still only wants to email about half of our registered users. I really believe at this point it's a host server issue, so I just need to program a workaround.
I have a plan of what I believe will solve the issue, and will attempt to finish up the programming over the next few days. My goal is to have it finished by this weekend, before next weeks update. Please know that you may see a test email or two as I debug the program. Thank you for your continued support! Jason Gallo race and clinic update 7 July thru 12 July

Hello fellow Utah BMXer's
We are just finishing up the tractor work on the Rad Canyon rebuild and now are looking for some motivated and able bodied hand-workers to get her dialed in for the upcoming practices. Our limitation right now is that we don't have access to water but hope to by next weekend. Without water we cannot properly pack the track. There will be a work party at the track next Saturday April 12th from 10:00am to 3:00pm so please set that time aside to come out. Any and all help will be appreciated. Boy Scout Jamboree Promotion Opportunity!
Rad Canyon has been offered an opportunity to participate at the Boy Scout Jamboree coming up on Saturday April 12th. We will be able to set up a booth and hand out literature to prospective BMXers during the course of the day and we are looking for a few individuals or families who could donate a few hours of their time to man the booth. This is one great way to give back to our program and help promote interest in the sport of BMX. If you can help out please call me to let me know. The Boy Scouts would like to firm up which groups will be able to attend so immediate replies would be appreciated.

Thanks, Ron Melton Asphalt / Paved Turns Meeting!
As you may or may not know, Rad Canyon has been considering the addition of asphalt to our three turns at the outdoor track. There have been several informal meetings / discussions during the past year, regarding this matter.
We would like to convene a formal meeting to layout all the details of asphalting our turns, timing of such work, manpower needed, & the financial cost involved. This project will require a commitment of manpower from the BMX community and financial sponsorships / donations to pay the cost of asphalting Rad’s turns. The meeting will be: Thursday, Jan. 17th, 2008 6:00 pm to 8:15 pm South Jordan Library Meeting Room South Jordan Library 10673 So. Redwood Rd. South Jordan, UT 84095 Note: The meeting will start at 6 pm and end promptly at 8:15 pm. The library requires that we exit by 8:45! Capacity of this room is approx. 65 – 70 people. Race for Life!!
We've got a great weekend of racing coming up next weekend! Our normal schedule is in effect; Practice on Tuesday (6:30 to 8:30pm) and Racing on Thursday (reg 6-7pm). But in addition, we will also be having a special race on Friday (Registration 6-7pm, Single Point), AND our RACE FOR LIFE race on Saturday July 21st! This will be a DOUBLE POINT race, and registration is from 9-10am, so beat the heat and come out and race!
Just a reminder about the Race for Life: You DO NOT have to be an ABA member to race, so if you've ever wanted to try out BMX, or know someone who wants to try, all you have to do is pay the race fee and you are on the track! All proceeds go to a great cause (see our Race for Life page for a full description), so let's get all the mom's, dad's, sister's, brother's, neighbor's, boss's, friend's, etc out to the race for some fun! RAD CANYON NEWS
Rad Canyon is pleased to announce that the entry fee WILL REMAIN at $10.00 for the RFL double on Saturday 27th. Although the ABA has mandated that the entry fee for RFL double pt. races in 2007 be raised to $20.00, Rad Canyon Indoor feels that the short notification for our RFL next Saturday to be unfair to our racers. Please continue to work on rounding up new riders to try the sport of BMX, and we promise to run a fun, quality race at a fair price. Thanks Ron Melton, Rad Canyon Race Pictures Posted!
